Founder Tracy Dickey Shares Our Heart on the Blue Mic Podcast
At Empty Hand Open Heart, every conversation is a chance to reach one more survivor with hope.
Our founder, Tracy Dickey, recently joined the Blue Mic podcast to share the story behind Empty Hand Open Heart , and the calling that brought it to life. Tracy opened up about her own healing journey, more than two decades of training in traditional Isshinryu karate, and how that path led her to earn her 5th degree black belt and the title of Renshi.
She shared why trauma-informed self-defense is about so much more than physical technique. For the survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking that Empty Hand Open Heart serves, it's a path back to confidence, healthy boundaries, and a sense of safety they can call their own.
In Tracy's words: "I want other victims to know that there are people in this world with compassion, love, and kindness, and that there is a way out for them to live their lives."
This episode is a window into our mission by igniting strength with love and kindness, one survivor at a time.
We'd love for you to hear it in Tracy's own words. Watch the full conversation on YouTube →
